I was raised on a farm in southwestern Manitoba. The Souris River flows through the property and I spent my youth exploring its banks and developed a strong appreciation for science and nature.
My interest in photography arose out of a desire to document my surroundings, both large and small. I’ve been an avid amateur photographer ever since 2000, when I bought my first camera. Over the last few years I’ve pursued interests as diverse as using reverse lenses to photograph snowflakes or building pinhole cameras to take long exposure images that track the motion of the sun for months.
My main passion though is taking landscape photographs. In a province with long summer days and endless skies how could that not be the case?
